…Vikings Notch Second Straight Win At Purdue
Cleveland State's first win of the 2023 spring campaign came in a 5-2 decision at Big Ten opponent Purdue, marking the second straight win over the Boilermakers for CSU. The Vikings got all five of their points on the singles courts, as Maxime Mareschal-Hay (No. 1), Kade Mindry (No. 2), Raul Teichmann (No. 4), Cole Chappell (No. 5), and JuandeDios Abboud (No. 6) all picked up wins.

Mindry & Teichmann Named #HLTennis Doubles Team of the Week
Cleveland State's top doubles team of Kade Mindry and Raul Teichmann brought home the first weekly award of the 2023 spring season earlier this week, as they were named the #HLTennis Doubles Team of the Week. The duo earned a 6-4 victory at No. 1 doubles against the Boilermakers last weekend, and now has a team-best five wins on the season.

Cleveland State At The MMTP
Saturday's matches will be the first of 11 home matches inside the Medical Mutual Tennis Pavilion for Cleveland State this year. Since moving into the MMTP during the 2016 spring campaign, the Vikings have posted a 46-15 record when playing at home, including a 40-8 mark over the last five seasons.

Dual Match Debuts
The quartet of Devin Boyer, Cole Chappell, Carl Gedlitschka, and Andrew Zimcosky all made their collegiate dual match debuts last weekend, including Boyer, Chappell and Gedlitschka appearing in the singles lineup. Chappell picked up his first dual match singles victory against Purdue, helping the Vikings earn the match win over the Boilermakers with a 6-4, 6-2 decision at the No. 5 spot.

#HLTennis Preseason Poll
Earlier this month the Vikings were selected to finish first in the North Division of the Horizon League Preseason Poll, while being tabbed to finish second overall in the Horizon League. This marked the 11th year that the Horizon League has released a preseason tennis poll, with Cleveland State being selected as a top-two team 10 out of the 11 years.

Head Coach Brian Etzkin
The Vikings will be under the direction of 21-year head coach Brian Etzkin. As the all-time winningest coach in program history, Etzkin currently owns 291 career wins.
