CLEVELAND, Ohio – The Cleveland State men's tennis team opened play at the ITA Midwest Regional Thursday, with a handful of Vikings advancing to the second round of the Qualifying Singles Draw.
During the first round of the Qualifying Singles Draw five out of six Vikings picked up wins, including the trio of Raul Teichmann (6-3, 6-4), Kade Mindry (6-3, 6-4) and Carl Gedlitschka (6-2, 6-2) who all picked up straight set wins.
All five Vikings came up short in their second round matches though, bowing out of the Main Singles Draw.
Cleveland State will continue action at the ITA Midwest Regional tomorrow, with four doubles teams in action and the duo of Maxime Mareschal-Hay and Mikael Erler opening play in the Main Singles Draw.
