Gutlove Garners United Soccer Coaches NCAA Division I Scholar All-America Honors

CLEVELAND, Ohio – Cleveland State women's soccer senior Elena Gutlove was named to the 2020-21 United Soccer Coaches Women's NCAA Division I Scholar All-America Third Team, it was recently announced. This is the first such honor by a Cleveland State women's soccer student-athlete.

Gutlove recently graduated from Cleveland State University with a 3.73 GPA and a degree in Speech and Hearing Sciences. This past semester, the recent graduate was one of 20 women soccer student-athletes to be named to the Cleveland State Dean's List, marking her fourth-straight semester garnering Dean's List honors.

On the pitch, Gutlove was named to the #HLWSOC First Team, along with fellow Viking Maddie Young. The 2019 transfer from Butler scored a career-high four goals to go along with a pair of helpers during her senior campaign. Gutlove tied for third in the #HLWSOC in goals, while becoming one of seven players in the conference to finish with double-digit points, adding a pair of assists for 10 total points.

The Canton, Ohio, product was named #HLWSOC Offensive Player of the Week on Feb. 12, after netting the golden goal in the Vikings' first home match, a 2-1 double overtime win over Wright State on Feb. 10.
