Ramicone, Holbrook Lead Vikings to 3-0 Win

CANONSBURG, Pa. – Freshman midfielder Kathryn Ramicone had a career day with a pair of tallies while senior goalkeeper Stevie Holbrook made six saves to boost Cleveland State to a 3-0 shutout win over Robert Morris on Tuesday afternoon.

The Vikings (5-4-0) moved back above .500 in their final road match of the campaign and recorded their second straight win following last week's 4-2 comeback victory over Green Bay

Ali Martin netted her second goal of the year midway through the opening half while Holbrook logged her ninth career clean sheet, fourth-most in program history.

Ramicone's performance tied her with teammate Maddie Young for the Horizon League lead in goals with four each. The Strongsville, Ohio native has three markers over her last two matches and ranks fourth in the conference in points with 11 (four goals, three assists), one point back of Young.

THE GAME
Making her first start since Feb. 10, Ja'Maya Ward found the first shot on goal of the match only two minutes in.

The Vikings were responsible for the game's first four shots before Ramicone broke the scoreless tie in the 11th minute for a 1-0 lead. Young added the assist on the goal, giving the sophomore a team-high four helpers and tying her for second in the #HLWSOC points race.

About 20 minutes later, Martin doubled the advantage with a finish off a corner kick, this time taken by Christina Trickett, marking the Vikings' 12th shot of the half and giving Martin two goals on the year.

The Colonials brought an improved effort over the final 45 minutes, outshooting the Vikings 6-5, but Cleveland State notched its largest lead of the season at 3-0 on Ramicone's second tally, which was scored directly following Lina Feltovich's corner in the 70th minute. Feltovich earned her second assist in as many games on the play.

Holbrook made a pair of saves over a span of 40 seconds in the 65th minute to bring her game total to six, matching a season-high set on Feb. 10 against Wright State.

Nine of 10 Vikings starters chipped in at least one shot while Ramicone had a game-high five shots, including three on target. Overall, Cleveland State held a 17-12 edge in shots.
