Cleveland State Wrestling Earns Nine MAC All-Academic Honors

CLEVELAND, Ohio - The Mid-American Conference announced Tuesday the 2022 Wrestling Academic All-MAC Team. A total of 69 student-athletes were named to this year's squad.

The Vikings had the second-most athletes on this year's team with nine, while Kent State led the way with ten student-athletes.

Cleveland State has now had nine athletes recognized in back-to-back years after having just one in their first year of being members of the MAC.

John Kelbly was honored for a third time while Marcus Robinson, Riley Smucker, DeAndre Nassar, Logan Heil, and Anthony Rice earned this honor twice.

The Academic All-MAC honor is for a student-athlete who has excelled in athletics and academics. To qualify, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.20 cumulative GPA and have participated in at least 50 percent of the contests.
