Setting the Scene
Cleveland State heads to Morgantown, West Virginia for a tri-match on Monday against Chattanooga (10:30 a.m.) and West Virginia (1:30 p.m.).

Scouting the Mountaineers
West Virginia enters the match at 3-3 overall and is coming off a 36-3 victory over VMI on December 12th. The Mountaineers have three wrestlers ranked; Killian Cardinale (No. 6 at 125 pounds), Peyton Hall (No. 12 at 165 pounds), and Michael Wolfgram (No. 22 at 285 pounds). Hall was named the WVU student-athlete of the week after extending his undefeated streak to 11-0.

Scouting the Mocs
Chattanooga comes into the match with a 3-3 overall record, splitting their tri-match on December 11th. The Mocs fell to No. 23 Illinois 19-12 before defeating SIUE 30-12. Chattanooga has a pair of wrestlers ranked; No. 20 Fabian Gutierrez at 125 pounds and No. 31 Drew Nicholson at 165 pounds.

Matchup History
Cleveland State and Chattanooga have met just once with the Green and White winning 21-17 in 2013 in Cleveland. The Vikings trail West Virginia in their all-time meetings, 26-10 with the Mountaineers winning last season in Cleveland, 18-15.

Look Back at the CSU Open
The Vikings had seven place winners and one champion at the 16th annual event. Riley Smucker captured the lone title of the day at 165 pounds. Daniel Patten (second), Ben Smith (third), Logan Heil (fourth), Marcus Robinson (fifth), DeAndre Nassar (sixth), and John Kelbly (sixth) rounded out the placers.

Wrestler of the Week
Smucker earned his first career MAC Wrestler of the Week honor after winning the 165-pound title at the CSU Open. The sophomore went 5-0 with three decisions and two falls.

Current Rankings
Logan Heil is the lone Viking in the latest Intermat rankings, coming in at No. 32 at 133 pounds.

Alumni Day
