Setting the Scene
Cleveland State hosts the 16th annual CSU Open on Saturday at 9:30 a.m. inside Woodling Gymnasium.

Opening Feature

  • The Vikings will enter 14 attached wrestlers into the event.
  • Cleveland State has at least one wrestler in every weight class.
  • The Green and White will enter three wrestlers at 149 pounds and two at 197 pounds and 285 pounds.

  • Twice the Vikings have had seven placers and one champion (2007 and 2019).
  • Logan Heil (125) and Riley Smucker (165) placed second in 2019.

Opponents
The open will feature roughly 18 schools with wrestlers competing attached or unattached along with several club teams. Some full teams entered include; Indiana, Kent State, and Central Michigan.

Last Time Out
The Vikings last competed on Sunday, November 14 at home against No. 21 Purdue, falling 39-7. In the home opener, Marcus Robinson recorded an 18-6 major decision at 149 pounds and DeAndre Nassar won 2-1 over No. 21 Matt Lyon at 184 pounds.
