King Finishes Fourth at Navy Classic

ANNAPOLIS, Md.-  The Cleveland State Wrestling team competed in the Navy Classic tournament all day on Saturday.

The Vikings were led by Daniel King (125) went 5-2 on the day, placing fourth.  King tallied three decisions, one major decision, and a pin.  King pinned Navy's Jeo Lemmon in 34 seconds.  On the year, he is 10-3 on the season.  Jared McKinley (133) had a strong showing in Maryland as he went 4-2 posting two decisions, a tech fall, and won by forfeit against his opponent. McKinley recorded a 17-2 tech fall victory over George Mason's Nikolas Weiser. 

Michael Carlone (141) had 3-2 day as he recorded two major decisions and a tech fall.  The tech fall victory (18-1) came against Nathaniel Harper.  Amon Willis (285) posted a 3-2 day for the Vikings.  His wins came by decision over Alexander Henry, Gerald Johnson, and Jordan Marrero.  The Vikings ended up tallying 35.0 points on the day.

The Vikings will host John Carroll University in the teams first home dual meet of the 2013-14 season, on Tuesday (Nov. 26) at Woodling Gym.  Wrestling will begin at 7:00 p.m.
