CLEVELAND, Ohio - The Cleveland State men's tennis team opened its final homestand of the 2024 spring campaign Saturday, picking up a 6-1 victory over IUPUI. With the win, the Vikings are now 16-6 overall this season and 6-0 in Horizon League play.
The Vikings were able to pick up the doubles point once again, as Lincoln Battle/Devin Boyer picked up a 6-2 win at No. 3 doubles and Carl Gedlitschka/JuandeDios Abboud earned a 6-4 win at the top of the lineup.
Battle then quickly gave Cleveland State a 2-0 edge after a 6-3, 6-3 win at No. 1 singles, while Boyer put the Vikings up 3-0 with a 6-4, 6-2 win at the No. 6 spot.
Cleveland State's clinching point came at No. 4 singles then, as Gedlitschka posted a 6-3, 6-4 win to keep the Vikings perfect in #HLTennis play this season.
The Vikings also added singles wins from Mikael Erler at the No. 2 spot (6-4, 6-4) and Nico Jamison at the No. 5 spot (6-2, 7-6).
Cleveland State will be back in action tomorrow, hosting Northern Kentucky at 10:00 a.m. and Walsh at 6:00 p.m. inside the Medical Mutual Tennis Pavilion.
