Cleveland State Men’s Tennis Opens ITA Midwest Regional

CLEVELAND, Ohio - The Cleveland State men's tennis team opened up play at the ITA Midwest Regional Thursday, with nine Vikings participating in the Qualifying Singles Draw.

JuandeDios Abboud and Devin Boyer both picked up wins in their first round matches, before eventually falling in the second round of the Qualifying Singles Draw.

Abboud earned a 6-1, 6-2 victory over Teddy Wong of Marquette in his first round match, while Boyer posted a 6-3, 6-1 win over DePaul's Elias Anwar.

Play at the ITA Midwest Regional will continue tomorrow, with Main Doubles Draw action. The Vikings will have five doubles teams competing, while Mikael Erler is still slated to play in the Main Singles Draw beginning Saturday.
