Cleveland State Men's Tennis Falls In #HLTennis Semifinals
ANN ARBOR, Mich. - The Cleveland State men's tennis team's 2023 campaign came to an end Saturday, as the Vikings dropped a 4-2 match against Tennessee Tech in the Horizon League Semifinals.
 
Saturday's semifinal appearance marked the 18th in program history.
 
Cleveland State was able to earn the early 1-0 advantage after picking up the doubles point, as wins at No. 2 and No. 3 doubles clinched the point for the Vikings. Carl Gedlitschka and JuandeDios Abboud earned a 6-1 win at the No. 2 spot, while Maxime Mareschal-Hay and Mikael Erler posted a 6-3 win at No. 3 doubles.
 
Tennessee Tech was then able to put three singles points on the board before Gedlitschka posted the first singles win of the day for Cleveland State at No. 6 singles. Gedlitschka battled for a 4-6, 6-3, 6-1 victory to put the score at 3-2 TTU.
 
Tennessee Tech's clinching point came at No. 4 singles then, as the Golden Eagles earned the 4-2 victory.

The Vikings finished the 2023 campaign with a 19-8 overall record.
