Mareschal-Hay Named #HLTennis Singles Player Of The Week

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – After posting a perfect 3-0 record at the top of the singles lineup last weekend, Cleveland State junior Maxime Mareschal-Hay has been named the Horizon League Singles Player of the Week. This marks the third weekly honor of the season for the Vikings, and the first Singles Player of the Week accolade for Cleveland State this year.

Last time out, Mareschal-Hay and the Vikings went 2-1, picking up wins against Ball State and Niagara to improve to 6-4 on the young season. 

Mareschal-Hay played at No. 1 singles in all three matches, picking up straight-set wins against all three opponents. He opened the weekend with a 6-3, 7-6(5) victory at Buffalo, before earning a 6-2, 6-3 win against Ball State and a 6-3, 6-3 victory over Niagara. 

With his three wins last week, Mareschal-Hay now has a team-high 12 singles wins on the year, including a team-best 7-2 record this spring. 

Mareschal-Hay is also closing in on 50 career singles wins during his time at Cleveland State, as he currently sits at 47 victories.
