  • The Cleveland State men's soccer team (3-8-0) will host #9 Akron at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday (Oct. 9) at Krenzler Field.
  • CSU will remain at Krenzler Field, returning to league play against Green Bay on Saturday (Oct. 12) at 1:00 p.m.

WEEK SIX RECAP:

  • The Vikings dropped a pair of 1-0 matches, falling at home to Cincinnati (Oct. 2) and at UIC on Saturday (Oct.5).

GOALKEEPERS:

  • CSU has used all three goalkeepers on the roster through 11 games.
  • Freshman Nick Ciraldo has started five games this season saving 14 shots.  Ciraldo picked up his first win vs. Marshall (Sept. 8).
  • Sophomore Austin Saini has tallied 11 saves on the year and junior Joe Kalt has played in four matches saving eight shots.

HORIZON LEAGUE STAT RANKINGS:

  • CSU ranks fifth in saves with 34 through 11 games played, averaging 3.09 per game.
  • The Vikings posted a season-high seven saves against Portland (Sept.1).
  • Nick Ciraldo ranks ninth in saves with 14 and Austin Saini ranks tenth behind Ciraldo in saves with 11.

ALL TIME VS. AKRON/GREEN BAY

  • The Vikings have faced Akron five times in  program history with a record of 1-4.  In 2010, the Vikings gave the Zips their only loss of the season defeating them 2-1 at Krenzler Field on Oct. 30.  Akron went on to win the National Championship that season.
  • All-time against Green Bay, the Vikings are 2-5-1.  Last season, the Vikings tied with Green Bay 1-1.
