Hanna graduated as the record holder for career goals (57) and most goals in a season (26 as a junior). During his junior season, Hanna scored the game-tying and game-winning goals against Air Force, helping Cleveland State win their first-ever game against a nationally ranked team.

After graduating from Cleveland State, Hanna was drafted 65th overall by the New York Riptide of the National Lacrosse League, becoming the first player selected under Coach German.
