Field Goal Drought
The Vikings opened the second half with a 9-0 run to take its largest lead of the game at 53-34. Cleveland State led 53-36 at the 14:23 mark but went 9:19 without making a field goal. The Vikings made just nine free throws during that span as Kent State cut the deficit to 62-60 before Modibo Niakate knocked down a three-pointer with 5:04 remaining.

Raheem Moss
The sophomore was not expected to play after suffering a sprained left ankle in the opening minutes of Wednesday night's Akron game but entered the game at the 17:07 mark and played 31 minutes, with seven points and three rebounds. Moss did not practice on Thursday or Friday but did take part in the one-hour practice on Saturday morning.
Steve Gansey
The freshman guard from Olmsted Falls, Ohio made his first career start at shooting guard. Gansey's appearance marks the third different starting lineup for the Vikings in five games.
