Cleveland State vs. George Mason

J'Nathan Bullock

• Led the Vikings in scoring for the eighth time in his career, scoring 22 points for his fourth career 20-point game.

• After going just 5-for-16 from the field vs. Slippery Rock, rebounded to make 10-of-14 vs. GMU (.714).

 

Joe Davis

• Making his Viking debut, the freshman was 5-of-7 from three-point on his way to scoring 19 points.

• Was 7-for-9 shooting from the field (.778).

 

Victor Morris

• Scored 14 points, all but two coming in the second half.

• Led CSU with five rebounds.

 

Raheem Moss

• Made a three-pointer in his 18th straight game dating back to last season, one game short of the school record set by William Stanley (2/89-1/90) & Jermaine Robinson (3/03-1/04).

 

Miscellaneous

• The game marked the third meeting between CSU & George Mason with the Vikings winning each of the first two contests (89-84 in 1978-79 & 90-69 in 1979-80).

• The game was the first time that CSU hosted a Final Four team from the season before.

• The contest started the 76th season of basketball at Cleveland State with the Vikings owning a 26-50 mark in openers and a 33-43 record in home openers.

• The Vikings, behind five three-pointers & .472 shooting (17-36) led for all but 28 seconds in the first half, leading by as many as 16 (39-23 with 3:07 left).

• GMU came back to take a 65-64 lead with 6:23 remaining in the second half on a three-pointer by John Vaughan.

• The George Mason comeback was made possible by good shooting as the Patriots shot .731 (19-of-26) in the second half.

• CSU moved the ball well on offense, handing out 17 assists on its 30 field goals.

• The Vikings took care of the ball, committing just 10 turnovers in the contest, five which came in the first half.

• The CSU defense, which led the Horizon League in steals a year ago, forced 17 GMU turnovers, making 10 steals.
