Recap |  Box Score |  Notes

Cleveland State Head Coach Mike Garland

"I'm very proud of those young men and what they did tonight. As good as it feels with the win, I'm very happy with the way we did it. We played a solid 40 minutes of basketball, and when the game came down to the line, our big players stepped up and made some plays."

On the injuries affecting the makeup of the team: "The injuries, as bad as they were, gave us a chance to look at other players. They gave Mike Redell and Steve Gansey a chance to step in. That's a little bit of adversity that has, for once, turned into a positive. I thought Mike Redell played like a veteran point guard. I think our future in this league with that kid at point guard is very, very bright because he did not shake or rattle or roll one bit."

Cleveland State Forward Omari Westley

On getting first Horizon League win: "We have to take each victory once at a time. We know that we can play with the top teams in the country and in the Horizon Leauge, so there is really no added pressure on us. We have to go out and just play ball and listen to our coaches game plan."

On being ahead and staying ahead: "We just have to finish. We were ahead in all the ballgames on the road, but weren't able to finish. We couldn't hit shots. But this victory will bring a lot of confidence to all our players that weren't able to make those shots. We have no choice but to win on the road to win in the Horizon League."

Cleveland State Forward Raheem Moss

On his injury: "I tried not to use that as an excuse and not let the opponent see it as a weakness. I just go out and play as hard as I can."

On three-point shooting: "I was patient. A lot of times, especially on the road, I tend to rush my shots. This time, I just tried to relax and stay patient, and they hopefully went in."
