Cleveland State Men’s Basketball Signs TJ Moss to Letter of Intent

Cleveland, OH-TJ Moss is the newest member of the Cleveland State men's basketball team, Head Coach Daniyal Robinson announced today. The addition of Ross completes the 2023-24 recruiting class for the Vikings. Moss joins Danny Young, Jalin Rice, Tevin Smith, Dok Muordar and KJ Debrick to make up the class. Moss will have one year of eligibility remaining with Cleveland State.

"We are excited to welcome TJ Moss to our Viking family," said Coach Robinson. "TJ is highly competitive, has a great feel for the game and has demonstrated the ability to make his teammates better. We set out to complete our roster with an experienced ball handler that was proven at this level, and TJ checks all the boxes of what we were looking for. On top of that, the experience that TJ has playing in the Horizon League was invaluable to us. We are looking forward to integrating TJ to our group."

Moss comes to Cleveland State following stops at Detroit Mercy, McNeese State and South Carolina. He was a four-star prospect coming out of Nevada's Findlay Prep and was rated the 26th best prospect in the country in the class of 2018.

Moss spent last season with Detroit Mercy, playing in 31 games with 20 starts for the Titans. He averaged 5.5 points and three rebounds per contest and shot 38 percent from the field. Moss finished the season with 32 steals and 86 assists, which were both second best on the team.

Prior to his time in Detroit, Moss played in nine games in 2021-22 with McNeese State. He spent his first three seasons at South Carolina, playing in 55 games for the Gamecocks. His best year in Columbia was his sophomore season, where he averaged 6.9 points and five assists per game. Moss saw action in 30 games after having his freshman season cut short due to injury.

Moss had a successful high school career at Memphis East High School in Memphis, Tennessee and spent one year at Findlay Prep. Moss helped to guide Findlay Prep to a 32-5 record that season and an appearance in the semifinals of the high school national tournament.

Moss is joined by his parents Timitra and Terrence Moss and is the middle child of three boys, with one older and one younger brother.
