Cleveland State Men’s Fencing Places Third at CCFC Championship

Columbus, OH-The Cleveland State fencing teams competed at the Central Collegiate Fencing Conference Championship on Saturday hosted by Ohio State University.

The team competition took place on Saturday, with the men's team finishing in third place with a 2-2 overall record. The women's squad finished 1-5 on the day with the lone victory coming against Detroit Mercy.

The men took second place in foil and saber and finished third in epee. The men collected wins over Detroit Mercy and Lawrence and fell to Wayne State and Ohio State. The saber and foil squad finished with identical 20-16 overall records on the day. 

The competition continues tomorrow with the individual portion of the conference championship, where individuals from all three weapons will face off with awards going to the top eight placers for both genders in each weapon.
