Brief Bio:
My main interests in Sociology are Political Sociology, Collective Behavior and Social Movements, Urban Sociology, and Public Sociology. I am researching and working with a national network of community organizers and policy experts working on building sustainable and inclusive communities and metropolitan regions. We work with a range of community leaders and institutions, and with local, state, and federal elected officials and policymakers. 

Research Interests:
Community organizing, engaged scholarship.

Political Sociology, Urban Sociology, Methods of Social Research, Race Class, and Gender, Sociology of Sports

Professional Service:
I have organized several conferences and workshops on community organizing, engaged scholarship, metropolitan equity, etc. I see these activities as both professional and community service.

Professional service also includes organizing several panels for professional conferences, journal reviewing, etc.

Community Service:
I have organized several conferences and workshops on community organizing, engaged scholarship, and similar topics. I work closely with community organizing groups, seeking to use sociological research and theory to inform better practice.
