INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - Cleveland State senior cross country runner Allison Craine has been named the Horizon League Cross Country Runner of the Week after leading the Vikings to a second place finish at the Shawnee State Invitational (Oct. 7). The honor is Craine's second of the season and the fourth of her career.

The league office made the announcement Monday afternoon.

"Allison continues to have a great season for us and she continues to be a great leader for this team and its great to see her acknowledged for all of her hard work," head coach Joe Jaketic said. "She had a great race last Friday and hopefully she can continue that success throughout the rest of the year."

Craine once again paced the Vikings with a sixth place individual finish at the Shawnee State Invite, crossing the line in a time of 19:40. The race marked the third sub-20 minute 5k for Craine this season, while it also marked the fourth time that she has finished in the top-10 this year (Detroit Titan Invitational-9th, Friendship Invitational-4th, Ohio Invitational-5th, Shawnee State Invite-6th).

The Austintown, Ohio native has earned the weekly award four times during her career, once earlier this season following the Ohio Invitational and also as a junior (Oct. 11, 2010) and as a freshman (Sept. 27, 2007).

Craine and the Vikings will be back in action this Friday (Oct. 14), as they compete at the Penn State National. The women's collegiate race is set to begin at 11:00 a.m.
