CLEVELAND, Ohio - The Cleveland State cross country team will continue its 2011 season this weekend, as the Vikings are set to compete at the 13th annual Shawnee State Invitational. The Invite is set for a 5:00 p.m. start on Friday (Oct. 7) at Riverside Park in West Portsmouth, Ohio.
The Vikings are coming off a 22nd overall finish at the All-Ohio Championship, including an eighth place finish among Division I schools. CSU had two runners place in the top-50 among Division I competitors in the championship race, as Allison Craine finished 33rd with a time of 18:57 and Kendra Kezur finished 48th in a time of 19:45.
Seven of Cleveland State's 12 competitors recorded season-bests at the All-Ohio Championship, including Craine and Kezur. Kari Haywood, Tori Holt, Angela Kirila, Katie Webb and Kelly Zaleski also posted their best times of the season last Friday (Sept. 30).
