CLEVELAND, Ohio - Cleveland State freshman cross country runner Allison Craine has been selected as the Horizon League Athlete of the Week for her performance at the Ohio University Invitational on Saturday (Sept. 22). The league office made the announcement on Tuesday afternoon.
Craine, who has been CSU's top finisher in all four events this season, finished 10th overall at Ohio as she recorded a time of 19:21. Craine's time was just 19 seconds shy of equaling her personal best of 19:02 set two weeks ago at the Mel Brodt Invitational at Bowling Green.
"Allison ran a tough race on Saturday," head coach Joe Jaketic said. "She has been one of the most consistent runners all season and really deserves this honor."
The Vikings will return to action on Saturday when they compete in the Earlham Invitational in Richmond, Ind. The race is scheduled to begin at 11:00 am.
