CLEVELAND, Ohio - The Cleveland State cross country team will continue its 2011 season on Saturday (Sept. 24), as the Vikings will take part in the Ohio University Invitational. Saturday's race is set for a 3:00 p.m. start at the Ohio University Golf Course on the OU campus.

"The course this weekend is a fast course, and hopefully we will be able to come away with some good times Saturday," head coach Joe Jaketic said. "The OU course is also a 6k course, so we will have to prepare and make adjustments for the different length, but from what I have been seeing this week everyone is ready to compete."

Last weekend, the Vikings competed at the Friendship Invitational, as Allison Craine led CSU with a fourth place overall finish. Craine finished in 19:02, marking her best time of the season.

CSU had four additional runners place in the top-50 at the Friendship Invitational, as Kendra Kezur (27th-20:07), Kelly Zaleski (32nd-20:15), Katie Webb (39th-20:27) and Kari Haywood (50th-20:50) rounded out the group.

Earlier this month, CSU's Kelly Zaleski was interviewed on the Horizon League Network as part of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee One-on-One series. Zaleski sat down with the Horizon League's Senior Associate Commissioner Bill Benner, and talked about being a Division I student-athlete. To view the video, click on the play button below.
