CEDARVILLE, Ohio - The Cleveland State cross country team continued their 2011 season at the All-Ohio Championship this afternoon, as Allison Craine and Kendra Kezur both posted top-50 finishes for the Vikings. As a team, CSU finished eighth among Division I schools and 22nd overall, as they beat out Horizon League opponent Wright State, who finished 26th overall.

"I was very proud of the way they ran today with the conditions being what they were," head coach Joe Jaketic said. "We were able to improve on our times from two weeks ago when we ran this course and that was great to see. Everyone is improving as the season goes on and hopefully we will be able to do the same thing next week."

Craine was the top finisher for the Vikings, placing 33rd overall with a time of 18:57. Her time marked a season-best, while it was also just her second sub-19 minute 5k time of her career, also doing so last season. Kezur ran a career-best 19:45 to place 48th for CSU, posting her first sub-20 5k time of the season.

Kelly Zaleski, Tori Holt, Katie Webb and Kari Haywood all finished right behind each other, as Zaleski placed 52nd (20:06), Holt finished 54th (20:12), Webb finished 56th (20:20) and Haywood placed 58th (20:31). Angela Kirila also ran in the championship race for CSU, placing 63rd with a career-best time of 21:11.

CSU also had five runners in the open race Friday afternoon, including Brittany Elmlinger (21:18), Andria Bazilevich (22:21), Melissa Boyes (23:32), Rachel Niemi (23:41) and Ashley Berlin (23:54).

The Vikings return to action next Friday (Oct. 7), when they take part in the Shawnee State Invitational. The race is slated for a 5:00 p.m. start in Portsmouth, Ohio.
