Cleveland State Cross Country Ready For #HLXC Championships

CLEVELAND, Ohio – The Cleveland State cross country team will return to action at the #HLXC Championships this weekend, set for the 6K league meet on Saturday, October 28.

The women's 6K race is slated to start at 12:00 p.m. at the Fairborn Community Park in Fairborn, Ohio.

Vikings At The #HLXC Championships
Cleveland State's best finish at the Horizon League Championship has been fourth place, which the Vikings posted during the 2011 and 2017 campaigns. Individually, Cleveland State's highest finish was by Anna Brandt, when she posted a third place finish at the 2018 championship. 

So Far This Season…
Cleveland State has been paced by the freshmen class, as Mia Beemsterboer and Natalie Keller have combined to post the Vikings' top finish in each of the first four races. Included in this, is Beemsterboer's win at the Wooster Invite, when she posted a 4K time of 16:13 in her collegiate debut. In addition, four upperclassmen have recorded personal-bests throughout the season.  

The 2023 Schedule
Saturday's race will mark the fifth of six races for the Vikings this season, and their third on a 6K course. Cleveland State's final meet of the season will be the NCAA Regionals, which will be hosted in Madison, Wis. on Friday, November 10.
