Cleveland State Cross Country Ready For #HLXC Championships

CLEVELAND, Ohio – The Cleveland State cross country team will return to action at the #HLXC Championships this weekend, set for the 6K league meet on Saturday, October 29.

HORIZON LEAGUE TOURNAMENT CENTRAL

The women's 6K race is slated to start at 11:00 a.m. at the Oakland University Cross Country Course in Rochester, Mich.

Vikings At The #HLXC Championships
Cleveland State's best finish at the Horizon League Championship has been fourth place, which the Vikings posted during the 2011 and 2017 campaigns. Individually, Cleveland State's highest finish was by Anna Brandt, when she posted a third place finish at the 2018 championship. 

So Far This Season…
Cleveland State has recorded 11 top-15 individual performances, including a pair of top-five finishes from Hannah Korte and Ariana Coats at the Tommy Titan Invitational. Korte has been Cleveland State's top finisher in four out of the first five races, while Kiannah Sarver marked the Vikings' highest finisher at the Notre Dame Invite. 

The 2022 Schedule
Saturday's race will mark the sixth of seven races for the Vikings this season, and just their second on a 6K course. Cleveland State's lone meet left on the schedule after the #HLXC Championships will be the NCAA Regionals on November 11.
