Cleveland State Cross Country Finishes Season At NCAA Regionals

EVANSVILLE, Ind. – The Cleveland State cross country team wrapped up the 2021 campaign Friday afternoon, participating in the NCAA Regionals.

Six of the seven Vikings that competed Friday recorded personal bests on the 6K course, including the freshmen duo of Madelynn Madison and Ariana Coats.

For the fourth time this season, Kiannah Sarver paced the Vikings at the NCAA Regionals, finishing in a career-best time of 23:18. Next to finish for the Vikings was Hannah Korte, who was one of Cleveland State's top-two finishers for the fourth time this season with a 6K time of 23:41.

Madison marked the third Viking to cross the finish line then, as she posted a personal-best time of 24:10. Coats (24:42), Emily Nemeth (24:13) and Kaelin Stahl (25:07) were the next Vikings to finish the 6K race, with all three notching career-best times.

Savannah Shaver rounded out Cleveland State's NCAA Regional participants Friday, posting a 6K time of 26:35, also marking a personal-best.

Friday's race marked the seventh and final race of the 2021 campaign.
