Cleveland State Cross Country Opens 2021 At Wooster Invitational

CLEVELAND, Ohio – The Cleveland State cross country team will begin the 2021 campaign this week, taking part in the Wooster Invitational on Wednesday, September 1. Wednesday's 4K race will take place at the L.C. Boles Memorial Golf Course on the campus of the College of Wooster.

The Race
Wednesday's meet will mark the shortest race for the Vikings this season, as they will be opening the season on a 4K course. Cleveland State will be one of eight teams competing in the Wooster Invitational, with start time set for 6:00 p.m.

COURSE MAP

2021 Roster
The Vikings return six runners that were featured on the roster during last year's adjusted campaign, including the top-three finishers from both 2021 spring races – Hannah Korte, Emily Nemeth, Savannah Shaver. This returning group will be joined by nine newcomers, including four true freshmen.

2021 ROSTER | 2021 SCHEDULE

2021 Schedule
Wednesday's race will be the first of seven scheduled meets for the Vikings this season, as they transition back to their normal fall lineup. Cleveland State will participate in five regular season meets, before taking part in the 2021 Horizon League Championships at the end of October and the NCAA Regionals during the beginning of November.

Head Coach Jason Hudson
The Vikings will be under the direction of head coach Jason Hudson during the 2021 campaign, as he returns for his fourth season at Cleveland State. Wednesday's meet will be a return to his alma mater for Hudson, as he was a four-year letterwinner in cross country and track & field at Wooster.
