Complete List Of USTFCCCA All-Academic Teams

NEW ORLEANS, La. - For the seventh straight season the Cleveland State cross country team has been honored for their academic achievements, earning USTFCCCA All-Academic Team accolades. The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association made the announcement last month.

"Once again, I am very proud of what this team has been able to accomplish not only on the cross country course, but more importantly in the classroom," head coach Joe Jaketic said. "It is very difficult to be a student-athlete, and all of my runners have been very focused on doing their best in the classroom and pushing their teammates to excel."

This season the Vikings notched a cumulative team GPA of 3.58 and were one of six Horizon League teams to earn All-Academic Team honors. Cleveland State has been awarded All-Academic Team status for seven straight years now (2014, 2013, 2012, 2011, 2010, 2009 & 2008) – joining Detroit as the only league schools to accomplish that feat.

To qualify as a USTFCCCA All-Academic Cross Country Team, the team must have had a cumulative team GPA of 3.00 or better and have started at least five runners at their respective NCAA regional championship.
