Cross Country Set For NCAA Regional

CLEVELAND, Ohio – The Cleveland State cross country team will compete in its final race of the 2014 season this weekend, participating in the NCAA Great Lakes Regional. The 6K race is slated to begin at 1:00 p.m. EST time on Friday, November 14 at the Zimmer Championship Course in Madison, Wis.

Scheduled to run for the Vikings are Samantha Butterbaugh, Megan O'Keefe, Erin Pavick, Alanna Shamrock, Sierra Swigert, Marissa Ward, Katie Webb, and Ashlyn Woods.

Cleveland State is one of 32 teams set to compete at the Great Lakes Regional, along with Horizon League opponents Detroit, Oakland, Valparaiso, Green Bay, Milwaukee, and Youngstown State.

2014 CSU RACE-BY-RACE RESULTS

This will be Cleveland State's third 6K of the season, with the All-Ohio Championship and Horizon League Championship also being run as 6K races. Ashlyn Woods owns this season's top 6K time of 22:17 that she set at the Horizon League Championship, while it also marks the best 6K time over the past 10 seasons at CSU.

Marissa Ward, Samantha Butterbaugh, and Katie Webb – who all recorded top-50 finishes at the Horizon League Championship – also posted top-15 6K times in the CSU record book; Ward 11th – 23:40, Butterbaugh 12th – 23:42, Webb 13th – 23:46.

CSU ALL-TIME TOP PERFORMANCES

Seven of the runners slated to compete this weekend have posted career-best 6K times so far this season, with six of those times coming at the Horizon League Championship last time out.
