MADISON, Wis. – The Cleveland State cross country team competed in their final race of the 2013 season Friday afternoon, running in the NCAA Great Lakes Regional.

"Overall we had a good race today, this is a much tougher course than we have ran all year, but we were able to match our times from earlier this season which was a positive," head coach Joe Jaketic said. "They are all a bit disappointed to end the season with this race because they have been running so well throughout the past few weeks and really giving it their all. It has been a great season for us, and this is one of the best groups I have ever coached. They work hard every day at practice and compete at a high level each time we are on the course and I am definitely excited about what next year will bring."

The Vikings had two runners post personal-best times, including Tori Holt who paced Cleveland State with a time of 23:18. Holt's time not only marked a career-best, but it is also the fifth fastest 6K time under Jaketic. On the way to the finish line, Holt recorded a 19:35 5K split – which ranks 34th on CSU's all-time top performances list.

Amelia Holt was the second Viking to post a personal-best time, crossing the finish line in 24:53. Ashlyn Woods, who crossed the finish line in 24:28, was just one second shy of tying her career-best time, and posted the 26th fastest 6K time since the 2005 season.

Erin Pavick recorded the 12th fastest 6K under Jaketic this afternoon, crossing the finish line in 23:57. Alanna Shamrock (25:18), Katie Webb (25:3) and Sarah Mallow (25:51) also competed for the Vikings.
