Cross Country Heads To Great Lakes Regional

CLEVELAND, Ohio – The Cleveland State cross country team will compete in its final race of the season this weekend, participating in the NCAA Great Lakes Regional.  The 2013 regional will take place in Madison, Wis. on Friday, November 15, with the women's 6K race slated for a 2:15 p.m. EST start.

CSU will be one of 34 teams competing in the regional race, along with Horizon League opponents Detroit, Oakland, Valparaiso, Green Bay, Milwaukee, Wright State and Youngstown State.

Slated to compete for the Vikings will be Amelia Holt, Tori Holt, Ashley Lydic, Sarah Mallow, Erin Pavick, Alanna Shamrock, Katie Webb and Ashlyn Woods.

2013 Race-by-Race Results

Friday's regional race will be the fourth 6K of the season for the Vikings, as they had a stretch of three-straight 6K races earlier this year (Friendship Invitational, All-Ohio Championship, Slippery Rock Invitational). Tori Holt recorded the top 6K time of the season at the Friendship Invitational (Sept. 21), crossing the finish line in a career-best time of 23:27. Holt's mark is the fifth fastest 6K time under head coach Joe Jaketic, while Erin Pavick recorded the ninth fastest time on the top-performances list with a 23:54 mark also at the Friendship Invitational.

Ashlyn Woods was also able to crack the top-25 earlier this season, recording a career-best time of 24:27 at the Friendship Invitational to rank 22nd overall on CSU's top-performances list.
