Wilmington Fall Classic Info

CLEVELAND, Ohio – The Cleveland State cross country team will compete in their final tune-up before the Horizon League Championship this weekend, set to run in the 21st annual Wilmington Fall Classic. The women's 5K race is slated for a 4:30 p.m. start time on Friday, Oct. 18, and will take place at the Wilmington Cross Country Course in Wilmington, Ohio.

The field for Friday's 5K includes more than 40 teams, including Horizon League opponent Wright State.

This will be Cleveland State's first 5K race in over five weeks, as the Vikings have run three straight 6K courses. The last time competing in a 5K was the Ohio Invitational (Sept. 14), when seven Vikings recorded personal best times, including Ashlyn Woods who posted a time of 19:14 – which ranks 12th on CSU's top performances list.

So far this season, the Vikings have recorded four top-50 5K times at CSU - Ashlyn Woods (12th – 19:14), Erin Pavick (14th – 19:15) and Tori Holt (24th – 19:27 & 25th – 19:28) – while all 14 Vikings have bettered their 5K marks each time out.

The 2013 edition of the Wilmington Fall Classic will be the first honoring Wilmington student-athlete Jenna Parlette, who tragically passed away earlier this season. The race will now take on a new name - #JennaStrong Fall Classic – and will support Epilepsy awareness, something Jenna worked tirelessly to support.
