Vikings Prepare For Slippery Rock Invitational

CLEVELAND, Ohio – The Cleveland State cross country team will compete for the sixth time during the 2013 season this weekend, participating in the Slippery Rock University Invitational. The invite, which will take place at Cooper's Lake Campground in Slippery Rock, Pa., will be the third consecutive 6K for the Vikings. The women's collegiate race is set for an 11:00 a.m. start on Saturday, Oct. 12.

In the past two 6K races, the Vikings have finished third and eighth as a team, while they have been paced individually by the duo of Tori Holt and Ashlyn Woods. Holt posted CSU's top 6K time of the season at the Friendship Invitational (23:27) – with the mark also ranking fifth on Cleveland State's Top Performances list.

Erin Pavick (23:54), Woods (24:27/24:54) and Katie Webb (24:55) own the other top-five 6K times for CSU this season, with Pavick's time ranking ninth on the top performances list and Woods' time of 24:27 ranking 22nd.

Pavick and Woods have been among the top-three CSU finishers during all five races so far this season, while Holt, Webb and Sarah Mallow have also made appearances in the top-three.
