2012 Horizon League Championship Results

MILWUAKEE, WISC.- When you are a cross country runner there are a few main keys to having a successful season. One of those is running your best when it counts, and that is exactly what the Cleveland State women's cross country team did at the Horizon League Championships Saturday.

Five runners were able to set their career best personal records in Milwaukee with others just missing their own. Despite the ninth place team finish, Head Coach Joe Jaketic could not have been prouder.

I'm very proud of their accomplishments, that's all you can ask is they run what they are capable of doing," Jaketic said. "They really ran hard and that's all you can do."

"They peaked at the right time," he added.

One of those runners who really peaked was sophomore Tori Holt who ran the 5k course in 19:13 to finish in 26th place overall as the top Viking finisher.

That time was a personal record by five seconds.

She was joined in the "personal record" category by Maddie Korak (20:34), Angela Kirila (20:56), Ashley Berlin (21:14), and Megan O'Keefe(21:36).

Two other Vikings were just off their PR, but still able to finish in the top 40 overall in Ashley Lydic (37th in 19:57) and Katie Webb
