CLEVELAND - Liz Fazio and Jenni Ramminger have signed national letters of intent to attend Cleveland State and play volleyball beginning in the fall of 2005. Vikings head coach Chuck Voss made the announcement on Wednesday on the final day that high school student-athletes were eligible to sign.

"Liz and Jenni will bring a tremendous amount of athleticism to our team next year," Voss said. "Liz has the athletic potential to become one of the best outside hitters in the program's history, while Jenni is very quick and will allow us to speed up the tempo of our offense. I expect both to be able to contribute right away."

A 5-9 outside hitter at Coventry High School in Akron, Fazio was the conference player of the year and a first team all-district selection as a senior. She posted 302 kills, 76 digs and 71 blocks en route to earning first team all-conference honors for the third consecutive season. She also earned all-state honors in track as a hurdler and was a two-time all-district pick in basketball, earning six letters in the two sports.

Ramminger was a two-time league player of the year honoree at Bishop Fenwick High School in Cincinnati. A 5-11 middle hitter, she compiled 776 kills, 268 blocks and 152 aces in her career en route to all-district and all-league accolades three times. She also lettered three times in softball.

Cleveland State (13-12, 6-8 HL) earned the fourth seed (its highest ever) in the upcoming Horizon League Championship thanks to a school-record six league victories. On Friday, Nov. 19, the Vikings will face either No. 5 UIC or No. 8 Youngstown State at 7:30 p.m. in Youngstown, Ohio.
