Loretto, Pa. - The Cleveland State volleyball team, stepping out of league action Wednesday night, downed host St. Francis in three straight games 30-28, 30-17, 31-29.
With the win, the Vikings improved to 16-8 overall heading into this weekend's critical Horizon League matches with UW-Milwaukee and UW-Green Bay at Woodling Gym. St. Francis fell to 13-14.
Seniors Michelle Iafigliola (Mentor, Ohio/Mentor) and Kristine Dabbelt (Batavia, Ohio/Batavia) each put down a match-high 10 kills. Dabbelt also recorded a .400 hitting efficiency, committing just two error in 20 attempts.
Dabbelt also recorded four of CSU's 10 service aces while sophomore Jamie Bouyer (Bedford Heights, Ohio/Chanel) chipped in three. Freshman Katie Calhoon (Mansfield, Ohio/Madison) notched a career- and match-high 11 digs.
Emily Turza led the Red Flash with nine kills.
