ROCHESTER, Mich. - The Cleveland State volleyball team equaled the program's longest winning streak since 1992 Tuesday night, defeating host Oakland University 30-17, 30-26, 30-19 at the "O" Rena Athletic Center.
The Vikings, 8-3, won their sixth match in a row since falling to #10-ranked Ohio State on Sept. 6. CSU also is off to its best start since the 1992 squad also began 8-3.
Sophomore Jamie Bouyer (Bedford Heights, Ohio/Chanel) powered the offense, connecting on 14 kills and hitting a sizzling .571. Senior Michelle Iafigliola (Mentor, Ohio/Mentor) added 12 kills for her 11th double-digit kill outing of the year.
In addition, freshman Katie Calhoon (Mansfield, Ohio/Madison) ripped four service aces and freshman Alisa Hatcher (Bellefontaine, Ohio/Bellefontaine) notched a match-high 10 digs.
For the match, CSU hit .282 (48K-17E-110TA) compared to just .009 (30K-29E-112TA) for the Golden Grizzlies.
