Meghan Mental is the most experienced backrow player on the roster and will be counted on to provide leadership to the younger players. She has outstanding ball control skills and has the ability to make sharp, crisp passes to help the Vikings get into their offense. In addition, her good court instincts and court awareness help her make the tough plays and keep the ball alive.
2009 Season (JUNIOR)
Played in all 34 matches, making four starts, as a key
contributor of CSU's back row.
Finished fifth on the team with 233 digs, averaging 1.96
per set.
Averaged 11.0 digs per match over the final five contests
of the season.
Finished with double-digit digs in seven matches and had
nine in five other contests.
Added 24 service aces and 25 assists.
Made 12 digs with two aces in Horizon League Championship
match vs. Milwaukee (11/22).
Amassed 15 digs at Green Bay (11/6).
Hammered out a career-best four aces with six digs vs.
Milwaukee (10/10).
Tallied a career-high 16 digs at Butler (9/25).
Recorded 13 digs against Michigan State (9/4).
2008 SEASON (SOPHOMORE)
Played in 17 matches, all coming in a reserve role as a
defensive specialist.
Finished season with 40 digs, 10 assists and five
aces.
Made just 10 receiving errors in 83 chances (.880).
Produced nine digs with three assists and one ace in a
win at Green Bay (11/8).
Had six digs vs. Kansas (9/12) and added seven at
Northwestern (9/6).
2007 Season (FRESHMAN)
Tallied 140 digs and 15 service aces in 28 matches.
Recorded double-digit digs in four matches and at least
five digs on 17 occasions.
Had 11 digs and career-high three aces versus UMKC
(9/8).
Notched career-best 12 digs at Wright State (9/14).
Had 11 digs in five-set win over regular season champion
Milwaukee (9/29).
High School
First team all-conference and second team all-district
selection as a senior playing for coach Dawn Moses.
Three-year letterwinner who led team to a 72-8 record
from 2004-06.
Played on three conference championship teams and two
distrcit championships squads.
Led team to Elite 8 as a sophomore and senior and Sweet
16 appearance as a junior.

Born May 23, 1989 in Cleveland, Ohio.
Daughter of Sue Kraus and Mick Mental.
Has a brother, Mickey, and two sisters, Addie and
Bridget.
Mickey plays football at Baldwin-Wallace, while Addie is
a basketball player at BW.
Named Math Student of the Year as a freshman and
sophomore.
Selected as Advance Biology Student of the Year as a
junior.
Earned CSU's Athletic Academic Excellence Award in 2008,
2009 and 2010.
