One of the top all-around players in the Horizon League, Alexis Korovich was one of just four players in the league to average at least 3.0 kills and 3.0 digs per game last season. A powerful finisher because of her strong swing, Korovich possesses good ball control and passing skills that allow her to stay on the floor for an entire rotation and play in the backrow. She plays with a mental toughness that helps her to easily forget mistakes and focus on the next play, giving her confidence to make key plays in tough situations.
2007 Season (Sophomore)
Finished second on team in kills (374) and digs (397) as a
starter in all 32 matches.
Her dig total was the eighth highest in school history.
Selected to Horizon League All-Tournament team after amassing 45
kills, 50 digs and seven blocks in three wins.
Recorded a team-high 20 double-doubles, including a 19-kill,
career-high 23 dig effort in league semifinal win over Wright State
(11/17).
Had 11 kills and 21 digs at Wright State (9/14) and then notched
19 kills and 20 digs in home win over the Raiders (10/13).
Hit season-high .429 with season-best 21 kills and 13 digs at
UIC (10/27).
Notched 14 kills and 19 digs in regular season finale against
Youngstown State (11/10).
Reached double-digit kills in 23 matches and double-digit digs
24 times.
2006 Season (Freshman)
Finished 10th in the league in kills per game (2.98).
Named MVP of the Oakland Invitational after averaging 16.3 kills
and 12.0 digs per game in three matches.
Amassed double-digit kills in 17 matches, including first four
contests of the season and nine of the first 10.
Totaled 14 kills and 14 digs in season opener versus Iona
(8/25).
Posted a career-high 24 kills against Bowling Green (9/8).
Tallied 12 kills, 12 digs and career-best five blocks versus
Indiana State (9/9).
Registered team-best eight double-doubles, including 20-kill,
13-dig effort in Horizon League semifinal against UIC (11/18).
Tallied 10 kills, nine digs and career-highs in service aces (4)
and assists (4) at Loyola (10/28).
Finished second on team in digs (266) and fifth in blocks
(43).
High School
Conference player of the year as a senior at Geneva High
School.
Two-time all-conference and all-county selection.
Helped team to 2002 sectional title by totaling 249 points and
76 blocks.
Selected as MVP of the Frank Roskovics and Scholar Athlete
all-star games.
Special mention all-Ohio guard on the basketball team while
earning first team all-conference and all-county.
Was also an all-conference in softball and a two-time all-county
pick after batting .385 with 32 stolen bases.
