QUICK SETS
For the second straight season the Cleveland State volleyball team has earned a spot in the Horizon League Tournament field and will begin play as the No. 6 seed with a first round contest against third-seeded Milwaukee on Friday, November 17. The two teams will be battling for a place in the semifinals on Saturday, November 18, with the #HLVB championship match slated for Sunday, November 19.

ENTERING THE TOURNAMENT…
The Vikings own a 16-13 overall record, and posted a 10-8 mark in Horizon League regular season contests…Cleveland State has won two out of its last three matches and seven out of its last 11…The Vikings enter the tournament as the No. 6 seed and will begin play in the opening round. 

CSU IN THE HORIZON LEAGUE TOURNAMENT
This will mark the 21st appearance in the #HLVB Tournament for the Vikings under head coach Chuck Voss. Under Voss, the Vikings have advanced to the championship match of the Horizon League Tournament nine times (2004, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2011, 2012, 2015, 2016, 2017) claiming the title during the 2007, 2012, 2015, 2016, 2017 seasons. Cleveland State has advanced to the semifinals of the #HLVB Tournament 15 times, and owns an overall record of 21-15 in Horizon League Championship action.

TORRES & WALKER EARN ALL-LEAGUE HONORS
The Vikings had two representatives on this year's All-Horizon League teams, with Liberty Torres earning a spot on the First Team and Emma Walker being named to the Second Team. Among league players, Torres ranks fourth averaging 3.29 kills per set to lead the Viking offense, while Walker ranks third averaging 5.04 digs per set to lead the CSU defense.

…OLINGER & VOSS NAMED TO #HLVB ALL-ACADEMIC TEAM
Earlier this week, the Cleveland State duo of Madison Olinger and Laken Voss was named to the #HLVB All-Academic Team, marking the fourth straight year that at least two Vikings have earned All-Academic recognition. Olinger owns a 3.85 GPA in nursing, while Voss carries a 4.00 studying mechanical engineering, as this duo has combined for eight CSU Dean's List honors. 

KLAER IN THE CSU CAREER RECORD BOOK
Sophomore Karly Klaer enters tournament play sitting 10th in the CSU Career Record Book with 1,857 assists through 56 matches as a Viking. Klaer, who eclipsed the 1,000-assist mark at Miami (OH) earlier this year, ranks third among league players averaging 9.13 assists per set, while ranking second with 986 total helpers on the year. 

…KLAER WITH THE DOUBLE-DOUBLE
So far this season, Karly Klaer has recorded 19 double-doubles, including two at Purdue Fort Wayne and Green Bay during the last week of regular season play. Klaer, who leads the team averaging 9.13 assists per set, also ranks second on the team with 2.94 digs per set. Klaer is one of four Vikings to notch a double-double this season, as Laken Voss has notched 10 and Nia Hall and Abby Miller have each recorded one. 

WALKER LEADING THE VIKING DEFENSE
Playing as Cleveland State's libero, Emma Walker is averaging 5.04 digs per set this season, a mark that ranks her third among #HLVB players. With 569 total digs so far this season, Walker is the first Viking to eclipse the 500-dig mark in a single season since Rachael Dohar in 2018. Walker currently ranks third on the CSU Single-Season Digs List, while she is just shy of earning a spot on the CSU Career Digs List with 1,097 career digs. 

VIKING BLOCK PARTY
Through 29 matches played, the Vikings are one of the best blocking teams in the nation, ranking 15th among Division I teams with 268.0 total team blocks on the year. Cleveland State has tallied double-digit team blocks 11 times this season, including five times in league play. In addition, the Vikings hold the top three performances among #HLVB teams so far this year with 24.0 blocks against Bucknell, 15.0 blocks against Kent State and 15.0 blocks at Akron. 

TORRES LEADING THE VIKING OFFENSE
Through the first 29 matches, junior Liberty Torres has been leading the Viking offense, averaging 3.29 kills per set on a .225 hitting percentage. Torres, who is one of 11 #HLVB players with 330+ kills on the year, ranks fourth with her 3.29 kills per set average. Torres has notched double-digit kill performances in 20 of the 27 matches played so far this season, including a trio of 20-kill efforts against RMU (24 kills), at Oakland (21 kills) and at Milwaukee (22 kills).

HEAD COACH CHUCK VOSS
Chuck Voss is in his 24th season at the helm of the Vikings, and owns a 409-292 (.583) overall record at Cleveland State. Under Voss the Vikings have now recorded 18 winning seasons, including this year's 16-13 current overall record. Cleveland State has eclipsed the 20-win mark eight times since Voss took over the program, and has captured Horizon League Tournament titles five times (2007, 2012, 2015, 2016 & 2017) under his guidance. During the 2016 season Voss became the all-time winningest coach in program history, and earlier this season Voss eclipsed the 400-win mark at Cleveland State with a 3-0 victory at IUPUI (September 19, 2023).
