Cleveland State Volleyball Set To Close Out Regular Season With Trio Of Matches

CLEVELAND, Ohio - The Cleveland State volleyball team will close out regular season play with a trio of road matches this week, traveling to Purdue Fort Wayne (Tuesday, November 7), Milwaukee (Friday, November 10) and Green Bay (Saturday, November 11).

Entering the week, the Vikings currently stand at 14-12 overall this season and 8-7 in Horizon League play, and sit sixth in the #HLVB standings.

Last time out, Cleveland State closed out its home slate on Senior Night, with the senior trio of Madalynn Butler, Abby Miller and Ainslie McLaughlin having strong performances.

Miller, who returned as Cleveland State's primary setter last time out, tallied a double-double against Oakland with 48 assists and a career-high 24 digs. In addition, Butler tallied eight kills and five blocks, while McLaughlin posted five kills and five blocks.

Butler and McLaughlin are part of a Viking blocking effort that continues to lead the league averaging 2.38 blocks per set with 238 total blocks this year. Individually, Madison Olinger (6th - 0.99) and JeriLynn Koehler (7th - 0.98) rank in the top-10.

With 27 digs last time out, Emma Walker eclipsed the 500-dig mark for the season, entering the final week of regular season play with 501 total digs. The 27-dig performance against Oakland marked her 13th 20-dig effort of the season, while she ranks third among #HLVB players averaging 5.01 digs per set.

Offensively, Liberty Torres continues to lead the Vikings averaging 3.18 kills per set, and tallied her 10th 15-kill match of the season with 16 kills against Oakland last time out. Torres ranks seventh in the Horizon League with her 3.18 kills per set, while Laken Voss is just outside of the top-10, ranking 11th with 2.98 kills per set.
