Cleveland State Volleyball Travels To YSU & RMU

CLEVELAND, Ohio – The Cleveland State volleyball team will return to action this weekend, traveling to Youngstown State on Friday, October 20 and Robert Morris on Saturday, October 21 to continue #HLVB play. 

Last Time Out…
…The Vikings picked up a pair of wins against league-leaders Green Bay (3-1) and Milwaukee (3-0), improving to 11-9 overall this season and 5-4 in #HLVB play.  

Torres Named #HLVB Player of the Week
After leading the Viking offense in last week's matches, junior Liberty Torres picked up her second weekly honor of the season, earning #HLVB Player of the Week accolades. Torres averaged 4.43 kills per set on a .355 hitting percentage for the weekend, including 15 kills on a .667 clip (15-1-21) against Milwaukee.  

…Torres Among #HLVB Players
For the season, Liberty Torres leads the Vikings and ranks sixth among league players with 252 total kills. As one of seven players with 250+ kills so far this year, Torres is averaging a team-best 3.23 kills per set.  

Walker Tracking Down 1,000 Career Digs
Entering the second half of #HLVB play, junior Emma Walker is closing in on 1,000 career digs, currently owning 924 digs. As the team's libero, Walker is averaging 5.01 digs per set to rank third among league players, and has recorded 15+ digs in eight of the last nine matches.  

Vikings On The Block
Cleveland State remains the best blocking team in the Horizon League, averaging a league-best 2.53 blocks per set. As a team, the Vikings have recorded double-digit blocks eight times this year, including a season-high 24.0 total blocks against Bucknell during non-league play.
