Torres Named #HLVB Player of the Week

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – After leading the Cleveland State volleyball team to a pair of wins against Green Bay and Milwaukee last weekend, junior outside hitter Liberty Torres has been named the Horizon League Player of the Week. This marks the second weekly honor of the season for Torres. 

Last time out, the Vikings picked up a 3-1 victory over Green Bay and a 3-0 win against Milwaukee, notching wins against the top two teams in the #HLVB standings. 

Torres led the Viking offense in the two wins, averaging 4.43 kills per set on a .355 hitting percentage on the weekend. 

To open the weekend, Torres recorded 16 kills against Green Bay, and followed that up with 15 kills against Milwaukee on a .667 clip (15-1-21). In addition, Torres combined for five block assists. 

Torres has now tallied 15+ kills in six straight matches, and currently leads the team and ranks fourth among #HLVB players averaging 3.23 kills per set on the season.
