Cleveland State Volleyball Closes Out Miami Invite

OXFORD, Ohio – The Cleveland State volleyball team closed out action at the 2023 Miami/Best Western Invitational Saturday, dropping a 3-0 contest against Eastern Kentucky.

Liberty Torres was named to the All-Tournament Team after averaging 2.82 kills per set on a .256 hitting percentage for the weekend.

Against EKU, the trio of Liberty Torres, Madison Olinger and Laken Voss all had six kills, while Karly Klaer finished with 21 assists. 

Klaer notched her third double-double of the season with a team-best 10 digs against EKU, while Emma Walker added eight digs. 

Olinger tallied a team-high four total blocks on the match. 

After the first two weeks of the 2023 season, Voss has a team-best 75 total kills (3.41/set), Walker leads the team with 88 digs (4.00/set), Klaer has 164 total assists (7.45/set), and Olinger has a team-best 28 total blocks (1.27/set). 

The Vikings will now return home for a stretch of four straight matches inside Woodling Gymnasium, beginning on Wednesday, September 6 when Cleveland State hosts Akron at 6:00 p.m.
