Cleveland State Volleyball Hosts Green Bay & Milwaukee In Final Homestand

CLEVELAND, Ohio – The Cleveland State volleyball team will host its final two matches inside Woodling Gymnasium this weekend, welcoming Green Bay on Friday, November 4 and Milwaukee on Saturday, November 5. 

The Vikings will be closing out a 12-match home slate, entering the final two matches with a 5-5 record inside Woodling Gymnasium this season. 

Saturday's match against Milwaukee will mark Senior Day for the Vikings, with Cleveland State honoring the group of Audrey McConihe, Peyton Bloomer, Sarah Green, Sarah DeGeorge, Lydia Latimer, and Chelsea Penfield pre-match.

Entering the weekend, senior Audrey McConihe is on track to earn a spot in the CSU Career Record Book, entering Friday's match with 1,125 career digs. With just 13 more digs, McConihe would be tied for 10th on the list, marking the first Viking to earn a spot in the top-10 since Shannon Grega. 

McConihe currently leads Cleveland State with 344 total digs on the year, while ranking ninth among #HLVB players averaging 3.44 digs per set. 

Lydia Latimer enters the final two weeks of regular season play as Cleveland State's top blocker, with 105 total blocks on the season, ranking third among league players averaging 1.22 blocks per set. In addition, Madison Olinger has 94 total blocks on the year, ranking sixth in the league with 1.03 blocks per set. 

Last time out, Laken Voss tallied 10 kills against YSU, marking her 12th straight double-digit kill match, and enters Friday's contest with 315 kills on the year. Among league players, Voss ranks fifth averaging 3.39 kills per set. 

Cleveland State currently sits sixth in the #HLVB standings, with the top six teams earning a spot in the upcoming 2022 Horizon League Tournament.

The Vikings will close out the 2022 regular season on the road next week, traveling to IUPUI (Friday, November 11) and Purdue Fort Wayne (Saturday, November 12) next weekend.
