QUICK SETS
The Cleveland State volleyball team will hit the road for a single match this weekend, traveling to Oakland for a 4:00 p.m. contest on Saturday, October 29. Entering the weekend, the Vikings stand at 8-15 overall this year and 5-7 in #HLVB play, while Oakland sits at 9-15 overall with a matching 5-7 mark in league action.

LAST TIME AGAINST OAKLAND…
Cleveland State picked up a 3-0 victory against the Grizzlies in the first meeting this season, with Laken Voss posting 13 kills and Emma Walker recording 18 digs to pace the Vikings. With a win on Saturday, the Vikings would pick up their second series sweep of the 2022 campaign. 

McCONIHE CLOSING IN ON TOP-10 LIST
With 337 total digs so far this season, senior Audrey McConihe is closing in on earning a spot in the CSU Career Record Book, entering Saturday's match with 1,118 career digs. McConihe needs just 20 more digs to be tied for 10th in the CSU Career Record Book, and would become the first Viking to earn a spot in the top-10 since Shannon Grega (2017). McConihe currently ranks eighth among #HLVB players averaging 3.59 digs per set this season.

VOSS LEADING THE VIKING OFFENSE
Entering the week, freshman Laken Voss has tallied double-digit kills in 10 straight matches, and currently leads the Vikings with 290 total kills on the year. Voss is averaging 3.33 kills per set to rank fifth among league players, and is the top freshman on the list. Through 22 matches played, Voss has tallied double-digit kills 19 times, including a trio of 20-kill performances.

VIKING BLOCK PARTY
Entering Saturday's match at Oakland the Vikings have posted 10.0+ team blocks in 11 matches so far this season, including 11.0 total blocks at Wright State last time out. Cleveland State currently ranks second in the league standings with 223.0 total blocks on the year, averaging 2.37 blocks per set. Individually, Lydia Latimer leads the Vikings with 97 blocks on the year, ranking third among #HLVB players averaging 1.21 blocks per set. 

KLAER WITH THE DOUBLE-DOUBLE
After posting five double-doubles over the last six matches, freshman Karly Klaer enters the weekend with a team-high 12 double-doubles on the season. Klaer, who has been serving as Cleveland State's primary setter for the majority of the season, ranks fourth among league players averaging 7.94 assists per set, while also averaging 2.54 digs per set on the year. Last time out, Klaer finished with 42 assists at Wright State, marking her fourth 40-assist match of the season. 

DeGEORGE FROM THE SERVICE LINE
After combining for 12 service aces over the last six matches, Sarah DeGeorge enters Saturday's match ranked third among #HLVB players averaging 0.40 service aces per match. Through 23 matches played this season, DeGeorge has a team-high 35 service aces on the year, including a season-best six aces against Morgan State earlier this season.

HEAD COACH CHUCK VOSS
Chuck Voss is in his 23rd season at the helm of the Vikings, and owns a 387-277 (.600) overall record at Cleveland State. Under Voss the Vikings have recorded 17 winning seasons, including a streak of 10 straight from 2009 to 2018. Cleveland State has eclipsed the 20-win mark eight times since Voss took over the program, and has captured Horizon League Tournament titles five times (2007, 2012, 2015, 2016 & 2017) under his guidance. During the 2016 season Voss became the all-time winningest coach in program history, and then later became the only active Horizon League coach to reach the 350-win mark at their current school.
