Cleveland State Volleyball Falls At Northern Kentucky

HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. – The Cleveland State volleyball team opened the weekend at Northern Kentucky Friday evening, dropping a 3-1 decision against the Norse.

Liberty Torres and Laken Voss both tallied 10 kills to lead the Viking offense, while Lydia Latimer added eight kills and Karly Klaer chipped in seven.

Defensively, Audrey McConihe and Sarah DeGeorge both recorded 17 digs, while Klaer added 13, Voss tallied 11 and Emma Walker notched 10 digs.

After dropping the opening set, the Vikings were able to even the match with a 25-20 victory during the second set.

During the second frame, the Vikings used a 4-1 run midway through the set to gain a 16-11 advantage on back-to-back points from an NKU error and a Madalynn Butler block. The Vikings were able to hold a sizeable advantage throughout the rest of the frame then, gaining set point on a Sarah DeGeorge service ace before closing out the frame with a Laken Voss kill.

Cleveland State then came up short in the next two sets, as Northern Kentucky came away with the 3-1 victory Friday evening.
