Cleveland State Volleyball Falls At Kent State

CLEVELAND, Ohio – The Cleveland State volleyball team started its final week of non-league play Thursday, dropping a 3-0 match at Kent State.

Laken Voss paced the Viking offense with 11 kills, notching her seventh double-digit kill match of the season. In addition, Madison Olinger tallied six kills on a .308  hitting percentage (6-2-13).

Karly Klaer once again served as Cleveland State's primary setter on the match, finishing with 29 assists.

Cleveland State's defense was led by Sarah DeGeorge with nine kills, while Audrey McConihe and Voss both added eight digs.

The trio of McConihe, DeGeorge and Halayna Kesling all recorded two service aces.

As a team, Cleveland State combined for 11.0 total blocks on the match, marking the sixth time this season that the Vikings have posted 10 or more blocks as a team. Individually, Lydia Latimer finished with four, while Olinger, Voss and Ainslie McLaughling all recorded three.
